chapter four

The rest of my school year seemed to last forever. Now the Dewey Decimal System was now world wide in the state of Alabama. One day coming home from school I saw something hanging out of a knot hole by the old Radley tree. Jem and I inspected it and found a wad of bubble gum. I snuck it away and didn't let Jem see me do it. Later that night I was smacking on it when Jem asked what it was. I told him it was the wad of gum that I found in the tree and then he snapped on me saying that I shouldn't eat things that I find. Jem and Dill came up with the idea for us to play Tom, Sam, and Dick. We again decided to go and try to peep in the window of the old Radley place and see if we could catch a glimpse of Boo.
